King of the Road

Well here it is just after the Infineon race and it seems that Caldwell Motorsports did not fair to well in the aspect that 2 of the 3 drivers was not able to finish the race. I did get to interview Doug Caldwell the driver of the #66 Under Armor car and he said that he was so surprised that he ended up taking the checkered flag in the lead and he would have never imagined that. He says that he wished his teammates would have been right there with him at the end but it was not meant to be.

After the race Gary Caldwell was disappointed but not surprised in his finish. He said that after he was spun and sustained damage to the front of his # 82 Margaritaville Chevy Impala that his time was limited. He was hoping for a good race but also noted that he is not a road course driver. He was really happy that one of his brothers took the checkered and is looking forward to the next race.

Todd Caldwell was no available for comment directly after his wreck. We caught up to him several minutes after the race. He said he was very disappointed in the race. I really feel like we had the car to win. “The 58 Logitech Impala was great’” he said. We lead 7 laps before we pitted and had a pit road
violation which was my entire fault. After starting in the back we were working our way up to the front. I think we were up to 11th with 30 laps to go .The #41 which was a lap down decided to force Hamlin and I three wide and then didn’t give us any room. I plan on “talking” to Reed. It’s obvious by the number of cautions that some of these teams need work.
I was extremely proud of
Doug. I was on his pit box after I got taken out. He drove flawless. He was not very confident on road courses. We worked a lot leading up to today’s race. He’s a great driver.
