50 Years of Daytona 500

50 Years of Daytona 500
What a race we had with the first race of the season and thr first season using the car of "today".
We went to the Garage area of Caldwell Motorsports and first spoke to Todd Caldwell and he had this to say. He was excited about the race and was ready to compete for the championship again this year after the disappointment he had last year coming so close but yet so far. We listened in on his radio transmissions and could hear how pleased he was that his crew was getting him out and gaining positions with each stop. He said that for some reason he wanted to stay with the lead pack and which is something he normally wouldn't think abouit until closer to the end of the race. We then caught up with doug and he was not to happy with the Yeley the driver of the #96. But he did say he wa happy for his brother Todd and disappointed for the way his Brother Gary and his races ended up saying that he knows they had cars to compete for the win but said there are alot of races left in the season. He said he was real pleased with the Qualifing laps he put down. He agreed with Todd and Gary in saying that he was excited to start the season.Gary said that he liked the the new car said he thought it had a better view and was more stable and foregiving. Gary said he thought the team work went well except for one miscommunication that caused him alot of problems between Todd and him stating that he thought one way and Todd thought another. Gary said that he learned to have patience. I guess we will have to wait and see just what this new car is going to bring this season. And we want to congratulate Todd on winning the Daytona 500!
